Timber Decks And Patios For Backyard Entertainment
Timber decks and patios are nice extras for homes, and they are very cost efficient when you're wanting a little extra place out back to chill. You can set up a barbecue pit out there, patio furniture, and you can even opt to have your deck or patio surround a new pool for family fun.
My great aunt and uncle wanted a wooden deck out front of their home, but their home is situated to its side as you come up the driveway. This was the perfect gathering spot, as all the family gathers there for Christmas and Thanksgiving. When I lived in Texas, we would visit there from time to time throughout the year as well.
So they installed a wooden deck or patio that was just about a foot off the ground and supported. It looked really nice, and they saved money by having my cousins do the work. Well, the niceness lasted for about a year or so, if that. The wood started buckling a little, warping, and there is some obvious discoloration.
I don't know if they didn't use treated wood or what, but it would have been better I now know if they would have let the professionals come install their timber deck or patio. While they most likely know that now, they have left it the way it is for the time being. It still works as a patio and is still standing, it's just not the most sturdy and sightly patio around.
A professionally installed patio, however, isn't going to start falling apart after a year. Perhaps you have purchased a home with an existing patio and you need it fixed or you want to add on to it. The professionals can come out and give you a quote and simply get your patio back up and beautiful.
Maybe you need boards replaced for an older patio, or maybe all you have is a yard with dreams of having a patio for those backyard barbecues. There are also ways to raise up patios, which probably would have or can even now help my great uncle's patio.
Of course, there are all different sizes, and you might have questions about this based on the size of your yard. You can look at examples of what other people have done. And, if you're not sure about what you want, listen to some suggestions from the patio experts.
